Things to be collected before Test #1:
Below are the pictures from our notes: HW: pg. 251
pg. 249-260 Announcement: TEST 1 is on MONDAY 8/29 Functions are relations whose inputs have one unique output. You can visually determine whether a relation is a function by using the Vertical Line Test (VLT). A relation that passes the VLT is a function, while a relation that fails the VLT is a non-function. In order to pass the VLT, the graph can intersect any vertical line only once.
Relations can produce either discrete or continuous graphs. Discrete graphs are made up of isolated points, while continuous graphs are made up of infinitely many points connected by a line. HW: pg. 239-245 Independent quantities are quantities that stand alone... meaning they do not rely on anything. Dependent quantities are quantities that cannot stand alone... meaning they do rely on another quanitity.
HW: Complete pg. 5-8. pg. 231-237 Syllabus day is always overloaded with information.... I hope that you were able to pick up all the important information for a successful year. Make sure to have your parents complete and sign the last page of the syllabus - it's due tomorrow.
